We’re so excited to share our latest features and improvements to the Embrace dashboard!
In this update, we’ll cover our new workflow feature called Notes, which allows team members to attach notes to specific crashes for better communication. A few use cases include:
- Sharing links to tickets in issue trackers (for teams that do not use Jira)
- Assigning engineers to specific crashes
- Providing visibility and status updates as engineers work to resolve crashes
- Serving as a referenceable resource in case a crash later resurfaces
You can quickly see if a crash has any notes attached in four places across our dashboard, so we’ll go through them individually now.
Crash Details Page
Below is an image of how the Notes feature looks on the Crash Details page. You find it between our workflow actions (resolve, snooze, ignore) and our Jira integration button.
This page is where you can create new notes and review existing ones. To create a note, simply click the Notes button and type a quick message. If you include a link, it will be saved as a hyperlink.
On the Crashes page, each individual crash now shows the workflow status as well as the count of notes attached to it. Clicking a row will take you directly to the Crash Details page where you can review any notes for that crash.
You can also see if a specific crash has any notes on the Issues page. If you highlight Crashes, then this information will appear in the Details column on the righthand side of the screen.
User Timeline Page
When reviewing a User Timeline that ends in a crash, the See Impact link will immediately notify you if this crash already has notes. By clicking the See Impact link, you’ll be taken to the Crash Details page where you can review them.
And that’s it! Now your team can easily write notes to share information about the crashes you’re working on. As always, please share any feedback so we can continue to build features and improvements that help your team be successful.
