We’re so excited to share our latest features and improvements to the Embrace dashboard!

In this update, we’ll cover a new feature that streamlines how team members can investigate crash alerts. When visiting the Alert Detail page after receiving an alert, you can now go directly to the specific Crash Details page.

Now, whenever you are alerted on a crash, you can quickly review the monitor conditions to see why the alert was triggered. Then you can immediately inspect the details of the crash to start debugging faster.

Note: for now this feature only works for crashes, but we will be extending functionality to alerts for error logs and network requests in the future.

Let’s see what this new feature looks like in practice!

The Alert

You get an alert for a crash in either Slack or email. You can click on “Click here to view” to go directly to the Alert Detail page.

The Alert Detail Page

On this page, you can review the monitor details as well as information about the metric over time. For example, if the metric is crash count, you would see the raw numbers of crashes over time. For crash user percentage, you would see the percentages over time.

If the monitor covers multiple crash types, you can quickly inspect them by toggling on “Show All Crash Groupings.”

To go directly to the Crash Details page for the specific crash that triggered the alert, click on “Open Crash Details.”

The Crash Details Page

Now you can review aggregate metrics about the crash as well as dive into User Timelines for debugging.

And that’s it! Now, in one seamless flow, your team can easily get an alert, see why it fired, and jump into the details to start debugging. As always, please share any feedback so we can continue to build features and improvements that help your team be successful.
